Polyester...do I DYE or DIE!

So we arrived home safe and sound.. NOW was time to get started!

First thing was first i had to confirm the order I had made a week or so ago in HK. Hoping and praying that what I was getting was correct.

Talking to the manufacturers overseas on the telephone proved to be..... tricky!! to say the least!
Soooo.. email was the way to go...

After send the first email.. I waited..... praying... hoping....that i got.. the SILK fabric in IVORY!
the next few hours consisted of my checking my email every 5 seconds.

...then it came.. the email that broke my heart in to a 1000000 pieces!
the fabric was not SILK.. it is POLYESTER! ooohhhh..... mmmmyyyy......... and the stress levels rise! polyester... oh my polyester.. possibly the worst fabric to DYE.. and I DIE! See my plan was all along to get the fabric in ivory and dye it to suit what i wanted...and if you know anything about dying fabric you would know that dyeing polyester is basically impossible!

HK and the FABRIC find

Soon enough its time to go to Hong Kong.

I spent the entire tip looking for.......
1. FLOWER fabric (that is in all SIX outfits.. and I originally planned to hand make)
AND...
2. a authentic designer bag...

I came home with.................... BOTH! kinda..AMAZING! that is all I can say.

just SIX!

After hours and hour of thinking... days and days of dreaming and weeks and weeks of wondering! It was time to have a sit down and really think about the six outfits I wanted to use for my collection.

Needing to make decision quickly I bit the bullet and picked the ONLY SIX I felt would be visually powerful and fun to make at the same time! I love a challenge so i made sure i chucked in a bot of that too.

Before getting my mind set on the SIX I, it was essential to fun them past my lecturers and make sure that 1. they were perfect and 2. I could construct these things! ahh!

As I walked up to my lecturer with my designs i wondered was she going to want to stab me when she finds out i have have challenged my self or just roll with it! :)

LUCKY for ME... i get the all clear!! Now for fabric and HONG KONG!
