ohh the memories!

Oh i forgot to tell you... Anna Vlach From the Advertiser.. did an article on ME! ohh MY!! could i be more excited.. oh and i got in the top 4 for the student of the year! WOO!

buuuuut anywayyy!!!

This experience has made me laugh, cry, die, smile, dance and pretty much feel every emotion i could possibly feel!

Although it was stressful and at time i couldn't see passed the zip, the cones, the drama.. i would not change it for the world!

I realised in life and business things wont always go smoothly and i know i was oh so jealous of those that had everything going there way... i believe that things needed to go wrong for me to realise its not all smiles and rainbows!! Ill never stop smiling when i think about the year Ive had and all of this!!

GREAT TIME, GREAT SHOW, GREAT DRESS!!

ITS SHOW TIME!!

So its the morning of the parade and im some what upset because of the simplifying but i am getting over that and just want this day to end!!!

The rehearsal goes well and everything is working...

So i get home and decide to whip up and outfit and it all starts again!! DRAMA.. the one i make makes me look somewhat like Kristy alley before jenny Craig(i love her.. I'm not being mean) and
I DiDNT CRY! thank god! and just decided to maybe go shopping at 3:30.. I'm so stupid.. I fin nothing and in the end alter another dress i made to make it look cute enough to walk down a catwalk!!
Ok.. fixed...
I take one breath and then i hear my phone ring.. i look down and its 'HANNAH'... OH S&%$!!!

"Trish... i have some bad news!!"
I will never forget this moment...(its 5:30 by the way i need to be there by 7:30.. you can imgaine the stress)

"What???????"
"They broke the zip on the top of your final DRESS"
The tears half come out...

So i RUN AND SPEED THERE!!! PICK UP THE DRESS AND TAKE IT HOME!!! GET DRESSED AND RUSH BACK!!!!

At this point i am 100% over it and want a glass of champagne to ease the pain!!

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! The show must go on and everything goes smoothly the show is over!! we Celebrate and we DANCE!!!

..the shows about to start...

Sew (so.. haha funny) i have one week and i have SO MUCH TO DO!!!

I have now given up on redbull regular and now started drinking redbull shots! SCARY! The Laughs in class have stopped and well.. its just not funny anymore. The only places i have been and tafe and home.. OH AND DK fabrics and spotlight! (VIP membership heading my way i think so) (oh and .. when the little ladies at DK start saying "oh you here again" you should start to worry)

Finally i have gotten though most of my outfits and the drama starts again when the construction of a few accessories stuff right up and I'm forced to simplify!! That's pretty much my nightmare! but i have no choice! i NEED 6 outfits on that runway NO MATTER WHAT!!!

OH and how can i forget... we have a fitting 3 days before the show and.. what? um excuse me? huh?? the shorts i have made have shrunk??? OH YES!! 13 cm to be precise! OH DEAR GOD!!

On a stress scale from 1- 10.. im a 12!!!

So with 3 or so weeks left i still another 5 outfits to complete! drama!!!

The stress levels have hit all time high and it time for a break down i think... oh yes. it is time for a break down!

This aren't going my way and slowly but surely things are beginning to mess up!!
After a few sessions with my therapist (my 12 year old brother) i realise that its to late to quit now and Ive gotten this far! SUCK it up and press on!

Days have become longer and i am currently drinking redbull on the regular and nights have become sleepless... oh and mornings... oh they are ugly!!!

BUT I MUST KEEP GOING!!!

Lights..CAMERA..action!

Before the photo shoot i remember thinking!!
A week ago i went to bed and the photo shoot seemed so far away.. OH but how mistaken i was!! it's tomorrow!!!!!

With Photographer Phebe, Makeup artist Marie, Hairdresser Steffi and the oh so gorgeous model Claire! We hit the road and drove all the way to para hills to shoot on location! This location smelly, random and funny! My dad owns a pet food company and does alot of manufacturing in HUGE oven.. and some how this became a prefect spot for a photo shoot!

The mixture of industrial looking was and lighting and this floral monstrosity was GREAT!

Photo shoot are so much fun! we all got along great and work so well together! giving each other tips and helping each other out!

Mission Accomplished! (too easy!)

2 WEEKS - 1 DRESS!!

SEW (so) its time to get things on the road!

I decided to begin sewing my final dress!!

This dress had given me nightmares... just thinking about sewing all those cones scared the living daylight out of me!! but i MUST push on!

Cutting the fabric proved to be the most time consuming part of the entire process. First i had to to cut around 240 pieces of fabric... 240 pieces of shape well and then begin to sew the approx. 120 cones!! each cone took around 5 minutes each and as time went on i found quicker ways to go about it.

After about 3 days of cone making. day and night on that machine i finally had finished all the cones and it was time to start sewing the to the lining!
This again proving to be more difficult than anticipated!
I started from the bottom! Sewing each row the entire way around... getting higher and higher the weight of the fabric was RIDICULOUS!! Needing help from peers and lecturers just to get it through the machine!
A few more days passed and the skirt base was complete! (note: due to weight i had to change it into a 2 piece)

The bodice for this outfit was easy enough and i got through it in a day!

Pressed for time and a photo shoot on Monday i had to rush and begin stuffing each cone with tulle and flowers! hot glue was my new best friend!!!!

After about 2 weeks of the most solid work i have done in my entire life i had this outfit complete and even though had been looking at it for days... i was AMAZED! it was exactly how i wanted it and i was SO HAPPY!

Polyester...do I DYE or DIE!

So we arrived home safe and sound.. NOW was time to get started!

First thing was first i had to confirm the order I had made a week or so ago in HK. Hoping and praying that what I was getting was correct.

Talking to the manufacturers overseas on the telephone proved to be..... tricky!! to say the least!
Soooo.. email was the way to go...

After send the first email.. I waited..... praying... hoping....that i got.. the SILK fabric in IVORY!
the next few hours consisted of my checking my email every 5 seconds.

...then it came.. the email that broke my heart in to a 1000000 pieces!
the fabric was not SILK.. it is POLYESTER! ooohhhh..... mmmmyyyy......... and the stress levels rise! polyester... oh my polyester.. possibly the worst fabric to DYE.. and I DIE! See my plan was all along to get the fabric in ivory and dye it to suit what i wanted...and if you know anything about dying fabric you would know that dyeing polyester is basically impossible!
